CHECK OUT MY NEW BLOG here.

Or just copy and paste this link: www.metropictureco.typepad.com.

While it was hard to make a switch with my "history" here, the switch was necessary. I wanted more control over the look and feel of my blog and I really, really wanted my pictures to be BIG. Unfortunately this site doesn't really allow for that flexibility. I'll keep this blog up for quite some time. I just can't bear to give up the "history" showing every shoot I've done since about the beginning. So go ahead, check out the new blog and don't forget to update your bookmarks and blog feed.

I haven't been a great blogger lately. Oh my dear blog readers, my sincere apologies. I can assure you I have been working on some good stuff. I updated my website, which I have shouted from the rooftops, but I have also been working on updating my sample albums. I'm very happy with the my new and improved samples and album vendors - both the coffee table album and the flush mount album. I'll show you photos of the new stuff in another post. You brides are going to love them. Like really love them.

But in the meantime, yeah, I've been goofing off a bit too. It's the weather. One day of spring-like weather and it's enough to make a girl (and her daughter) go crazy. So today we went to my favorite St. Louis spot ev-er - the Zoo. By the way, you get an amazing parking spot when you get there not long after they open at 9 am. There is hardly a soul there. Well people anyway. Here's who we stumbled upon.

It was feeding time when we got there, so the penguins were happy to pose for me.

The cats are always good and lazy, which makes for an easy pic.

I overheard someone say this little giraffe was born late last year - still taller than me.

But our favorites are always the apes, gorillas and orangatans. I just like the look of this one's hand. So big and wrinkle-y, but also looking sweet and delicate. She is all hugged up to the baby orangatan wrapped up in a sheet. They played a long and silly game of peek-a-boo. And then she just held the baby close.

This was our guy. He came right up to the glass and ate his breakfast in front of us. Like we were old friends having our daily coffee. Whit was fascinated with him and talked to him softly through the glass. I swear he liked it. Look at the eyes on this gentle giant.

Whit was happy with our trip. I took this right after her breakfast conversation with her buddy. Maybe they bonded because they have the same hair color ??

Till next time!

Quick website note - if you went to the "Contact" page on my website www.metropictureco.com, and submitted your information in the past week, I did not receive it. The form is working now, so please resubmit your information. Sorry for the inconvenience. I promise I'm not ignoring anyone on purpose!

The new website is here!

I really can't tell you how excited I am to launch my newly updated website. It's been a long time coming. I've dragged my feet over the past months partially because there were too many images to choose from - which turns out to be a good problem to have, thanks to my wonderful clients.

So check it out and enjoy! I'm sure there will be some tweaks here and there, so if you see something that doesn't quite look right, please email me and let me know at sherry@metropictureco.com. Thanks for looking! I am so pumped about the coming year.

So, we went and saw Sesame Street Live last week. Alex and I debated about going for awhile because: a) was Whit old enough to enjoy it? b) did we really want to spend $100 on tickets for something we weren't sure she'd appreciate? c) would she even sit still? Well the answers to that were yes, no and sorta!

As you can see, we weren't exactly in the VIP section, but Whit sat in my lap and wiggled and danced. I swear she could anticipate the end of a song and started clapping - my little theater-goer. She lasted through the intermission and was equally entertained by the other kids and people with cameras. That's my girl.

And of course we just had to get her the Elmo balloon since that would mean we were good parents. Really, could she be the only kid without an Elmo balloon? Uh, no. Some poor kiddo lost their balloon in the Scottrade center and I couldn't help but laugh at ten bucks floating away up into the rafters. Glad that wasn't us. Here is Whit at home playing with the balloon waaaaay past her bedtime.

Till next year!
